Started over
20 years ago - the 'New Year’s Day Parade London' has become the biggest
event of its kind in the world and boasts a street-side audience of more than
a million.
The parade receives a huge amount of international media coverage and has
a list of patrons that include Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The route takes
in Regent St, Oxford Street, Parliament Square, Piccadilly and Hyde Park.
Raising huge amounts for
charity - the 'New Year's Day Parade London' is now part of the 'London Parade
Festival', which also comprises a series of concerts and other performances
in and around London between Christmas and the New Year.
